In the heart of the Lake District, amid dramatic fells and picturesque valleys, you will find The Ambleside Salutation.

Enjoying a village centre location and boasting breathtaking views, this 17th century hotel has welcomed visitors since 1600.

The Garden Room is open for lunch and evening meals, with a wide selection of dishes available. Our on-site leisure club is exclusive to hotel guests.

The hotel advises that from 01 July 2007, the Ambleside Salutation Hotel will be completely non-smoking, including the guest bedrooms.

Festive Room more info

New Years Eve After your journey you will be ready for a pot of tea - and a rest! Please join us for our traditional afternoon tea to revive you and set the gastronomic scene of things to come. Afterwards you will have time to settle in and get ready for our welcome cocktail party and a chance to meet your fellow guests. Make your way into the restaurant for our Gala Dinner. International cabaret artist David Ford will entertain you with his singing. There will be a visit from the piper with a firework display at midnight and a glass of bubbly to welcome in the New Year. New Years Day Breakfast will be served a little later today as some of you may have had a rather late night! Guests will have the day free to enjoy as they wish, returning to the hotel for dinner this evening. 2nd January 2009 Breakfast will be served from 8.00 – 9.30am, then we say farewell and all the best for the New Year for those of you who are leaving us today, or why not take advantage of a special rate and stay over the weekend
