 Let me give you both, the ups, and down... The up was that the location is good, only minutes away from the Lakes. The down, is that there isn't any parking spaces provided or available and as it is a residential area, the parking is impossible...We had to drive around for 45 minutes before finally being able to park... Also when we checked in Sharon, the owner didn't seem to be that bothered or sympathetic by the situation... Once arrived, we were a little bit surprised as after reading the last few reviews, we were expecting a lot more than just a roadside guesthouse... The room wasn't unclean, but not spotless either...We also found the room being far smaller than advertised... The breakfast was made with cheap ingredients and let's face it, we could have give ourselves a favour and sleep a bit more and not bother with it, as it wasn't really worth missing any sleep over it... On the 2nd night, we decided to go out for a meal and a few drinks. We spent the evening at the "Angel inn", and the meal was delicious...the atmosphere was really good and we will be returning to the "Angel", we also met some really friendly locals, and when they asked were we were staying, we said "Annisgarth", the locals told us to be careful, as the owner is on trial for money laundering...I couldn't believe what we were hearing... We will be returning to Bowness but we won't be staying ever again at the Annisgarth, next time we will be staying at "the Angel" as there are also rooms available there, the staff is far friendlier and the owner isn't up for money laundering...
