It has often been written that the hotel was designed around the theme of time, with 4 towers for the seasons, 12 floors for the months of the year, 52 chimneys for the weeks and 365 rooms - one for each day of the year. The hotel was also built in the shape of a 'V' - symbolising the reign of Queen Victoria. The Grand Hotel is one of Scarborough's greatest landmarks. Situated in the town centre, this stately building enjoys pride of place overlooking Scarborough's picturesque South Bay and Harbour. Without a doubt the views from the Hotels Harbour Lights restaurant are among the finest on this coast. Please note the hotel is currently undergoing a 7m refurbishment programme.
