The House dates from 1727 and was formerly the principal residence within the village. There are 12 individually styled, non-smoking rooms, which now include 2 de-luxe rooms with aqua massage baths. Many have views either over the gardens or toward Cross Fell, the highest peak in the Pennines, which dominates the skyline to the North. Comfortable lounges, open fires and great food combine with the peaceful garden setting to create the uniquely relaxing ambiance that is Temple Sowerby House.
