Set above Salcombe Estuary, this YHA hostel has a sandy beach at the end of its driveway. The Edwardian building overlooks the exotic gardens of National Trust Overbecks. Meals are served in the wood-panelled dining room, originally a 1920s billiards room. YHA Salcombe also has sea-facing lounges and fantastic views of the South Hams coastline. The majority of the rooms and dormitories have bunk beds. YHA Salcombe is well-located for an action holiday, and the South West Coast Path is at the top of the driveway. Sailing, body boarding, surfing and kayaking are available in Salcombe. South Sands and North Sands beaches lie between Salcombe and this YHA hostel. Local fishing villages and historical sites are also worth exploring.
