Ramsgate Maritime Museum (2.5 km / 1.5 miles) - focusing strongly on Ramsgate and its immediate environs, with a brief introduction to the rest of the region's maritime past. The museum itself is a product of some of the most eminent civil engineers and architects of the early 19th century.

Margate Caves (8 km / 5 miles) - a fascinating discovery, the caves penetrate for a considerable distance under the sites of the one time vicarage of Holy Trinity Church, and the Church itself.

Powell-Cotton Museum (9.5 km / 6 miles) - surrounded by 250 acres of parkland and gardens, this Victorian mansion is still home to the Powell-Cotton family, containing an amazing variety of items from the animal dioramas to striking tribal art, as well as valuable collections of European and Chinese porcelain and local archaeology.

By car:
From the M2:
- Exit the M2 onto the A299 for Margate and Ramsgate.
- When you reach Canterbury Road West (just after passing Kent International Airport on your left), you will come to Lord of the Manor roundabout.
- Take the 1st exit onto Canterbury Road East.
- At the next traffic circle, take the 2nd exit, again onto Canterbury Road East.
- At Nethercourt Circus, take the 3rd exit onto Chilton Lane.
- This road will become Pegwell Road. Follow it around toward the sea and you will reach the hotel.
