| The guest house was honoured to be presented with an award for outstanding contribution to the leisure and tourism industry in Thanet, by Thanet District Council. The best accolade yet is The Environment Agency Water efficiency awards 2007 prize for Outstanding Contribution to Water Conservation. The guest house won the category for leisure and tourism, plus scooped the overall winners award. We are very keen to promote and encourage wise use of water and energy here at the Malvern Hotel, whilst ensuring our guests have a pleasant stay. |

| Some rooms are decorated in sea blues with traditional furnishings; others have modern, wooden furniture and are decorated in light, neutral shades. Rooms at the front of the hotel have outstanding sea views; please enquire about availability when booking. All rooms are available with a late check-out on request and subject to a fee (depending on time of check-out and availability of room). Please note that all en suite rooms have standard showers and not power showers. The Malvern is an environmentally friendly guest house. |

| The Malvern Hotel & Blues Grill has been awarded a Gold standard Clean Food Award for the past 6 years and has been awarded a Kent Heartbeat Award for providing healthier food choices and a non-smoking environment. Standard breakfast times are 08:00 to 09:00 Monday to Saturday, and 08:30 to 09:30 on Sundays. If you require an earlier breakfast, this is available from 07:00 (on request). A continental breakfast can be provided in your room, and packed lunches can be provided for very early departures (on request). Please note all special dietary requirements must be requested prior to or on arrival. Please note that the restaurant is by reservation only. The restaurant is also open to non-residents so reserving a table is advised. The restaurant is not open on Sundays. A room service menu is available from 17:00 – 23:00 for drinks and 17:00 – 21:00 for food. |

| Margate Seafront (surrounding area) - in 1890 the town became the first resort to introduce donkey rides. 8 years later, Margate was the first hotel to introduce deck chairs. The area's sandy beaches have long been popular with Londoners seeking a break from city life. Shell Grotto (550 metres) - almost all the surface area of the walls and ceilings of these subterranean passageways and rooms are covered in mosaics created entirely of seashells, totalling about 2,000 square feet of mosaic or 4.6 million shells. Margate Museum (about 1 km) - here, in Market Place, you can explore the town's seaside and maritime heritage. |

| By Car: From the M25, travelling clockwise: - Exit at junction 2 for the A2, which becomes the M2 motorway. - At junction 7, join the A299. - After about 18 miles (28 km), join the A28 towards Margate. - Once you approach the seafront, continue along until you come to the main set of traffic lights, remaining in the left-hand lane. - Follow the seafront along and up Fort Hill (you will pass a police station on your right-hand side). - Once you have passed Bugsy's bowling, continue along the sea road for approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) and you will see the hotel on your right-hand side. From the M25 motorway, travelling anticlockwise: - At junction 5 take the M26 motorway, joining the M20. - At junction 7 join the A249 then pick up the M2 motorway southbound. Follow the directions from the M2 motorway as detailed above. |
| Important information |
| The guest house does not have a lift and may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. The Blues Grill is open Monday - Saturdday from 18.00 to 20.00, but reservations must be made in advance of arrival. The Grill is closed on Sundays. |
